Two JNU projects are listed in the special plan for key paper and audiovisual publications during the 14th Five-Year Plan, according to the Development Plan for the Publishing Circle in the 14th Five-Year Plan, announced by the Press and Publication Administration on Dec. 30, 2021.The JNU projects are Research and Compilation of Britain's National Archives' Collection of Chinese Archives in Canton's 13 Hongs and Macao During the Qing Dynasty and The Memoirs of 'Two Bombs and One Satellite Award' Winners, .
Written by Tang Kaijian, a famous historian and JNU professor, the former project is the midterm result of a 2019 key project of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2019. It carries documentation, compilation, statistics and research in the Kangxi and Qianlong periods; the Jiaqing period; and the Daoguang and Xianfeng period.
The latter, edited by China Science Daily, collects memoirs and interviews from more than 30 participants, including the award-winning scientists Nie Ronzhen, Qian Sanqiang, Qian Xuesen, Wang Ganchang, Zhu Guangya, Yang Zhengning, Zhou Guangchao and Yu Ming. It is divided into sections on atomic bomb and hydrogen bomb, missile, opto-electromechanical material and artificial satellite, giving concrete expression to the scientists’ extraordinary boldness, sense of political responsibility and dedication.
