The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Online Open Course Alliance held its annual meeting online on Dec 12. The conference promotes the integrated application of internet + education and stimulates the innovative power of higher education, the development of cross-campus course resource-sharing and mutual recognition of credits.
Under Guangdong education development during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) the promotion and application of first-class teaching resources will be implemented. An independently operated course resource-sharing platform meeting the need of all universities in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao will be developed based on the alliance. On this platform, more than 1,000 provincial-level high-quality online open courses will be introduced to expand the sharing of national- and provincial-quality teaching resources.
Jiang Lin, director of the Guangdong Department of Education's Division of Higher Education, said the alliance shouldered the responsibility for the promotion and application of first-class teaching resources. It is expected to advance the recognition of intra-school and inter-school credits for shared open online courses, the integration of online and offline, and the sharing of high-quality teaching resources in detail.

JNU Vice President Zhang Ronghua, chairman of the alliance, said version 2.0 of the alliance platform extensively covers all processes of teaching, learning, assessment, measurement and management; collects teaching process data in all aspects; and carries out intelligent and automatic processing and analysis. The high-quality large course project gathers academicians from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao universities to build a high-quality online open course cluster for general education. In addition, the project has mobilized 61 universities -- 14 of them in Hong Kong and Macao -- to participate, deepening cooperation among universities in the Greater Bay Aarea.
