A research team from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Institute of CNS Regeneration published a research article titled “PINK1 kinase dysfunction triggers neurodegeneration in the primate brain without impacting mitochondrial homeostasis” online in the journal Protein & Cell (IF 14.870) on Nov. 20.

Yang Weili, a JNU researcher, is the first and co-corresponding author of the paper, with Prof. Li Xiaojiang as co-corresponding author. Associate Researcher Guo Xiangyu, Researcher Tu Zhuchi and Prof. Li Shihua also participated in this project. The team of Prof. Liao Lujian of East China Normal University made important contributions to the analysis of protein phosphorylation. This research was funded by the Guangdong Department of Science and Technology Project Fund, the Ministry of Science and Technology's National Key Research and Development Program and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
