Students from JNU's College of Chemistry and Materials Sciences won one second prize and four third prizes in the finals of the 11th Guangdong University Students Materials Innovation Competition, held online at Southern University of Science and Technology on Nov. 20 and 21. The students' instructors in the college -- Dong Liubing, Luo Binghong, Zhao Jianhao and Liu Mingxian -- won the title Excellent Instructors.

The college organized eight teams, with a total of 24 participants, for two competitions, inorganic non-metallic materials and organic polymer materials. In the first, a JNU team won second prize in the finals and third prize in the sub-competition. In the second, a JNU team won third prize in both the finals and the sub-competition.

The Guangdong University Students Materials Innovation Competition, launched by South China University of Technology in 2011, has become highly influential in South China. It promotes quality education for college students and cultivates their abilities in innovation and entrepreneurship in college students.
