Prof.Gao Hao of the College of Pharmacy became JNU's first winner of the eighth Shu Lan Medicine Youth Award in a ceremony in Liangzhu, Hangzhou, on Nov. 20. Three Shu Lan medicine winners and 12 youth winners were honored.

The Shu Lan Medicine Awards, with the approval of the National Office for Science and Technology Awards, were established by the Academician Shusen Lanjuan Talent Foundation to boost China’s medical education and cultivate young scientists and scholars. They also advance China's medical and healthcare development and facilitate medical science and technology toward world-class level. The awards honor science and technology talents from China, including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, whose innovations have proven effective in medicine and healthcare. Shu Lan Medicine Awards went to 17 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 79 young scientists won the Shu Lan Medicine Youth Award.
Prof. Gao Hao:
Gao, a doctoral supervisor, is president of JNU’s Office of Scientific Research and Development and director of its Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Natural Medicine. He is one of the most outstanding young Chinese scholars in traditional Chinese medicine.
