To strengthen lab safety and management of hazardous chemicals, and to enhance teachers' and students' knowledge and ability in lab emergency rescue and evacuation, JNU's College of Chemistry and Materials Science held two drills on Oct. 13 with the support of Panyu Campus Laboratory and Equipment Office and Security Office.

Chen Tianfeng, vice dean and director of the lab center, introduced the aim of the drill and emphasized the importance of lab safety work. He said he hoped teachers and students in the college could improve their safety awareness and master emergency self-rescue and disposal of hazardous chemicals through the activity.
The chemical leakage emergency drill was conducted by Chen Jian, a senior safety training lecturer, who trained lab technicians and safety officers on safe disposal of chemical leakage. He also explained the points for attention when making emergency evacuation.

Over 250 teachers and students attended the emergency evacuation drill, and over 50 of them also attended the emergency drill of chemical leakage.
