Li Shujuan, an associate professor in JNU's Institute for Economic and Social Research, has published two papers as first author in China's top economic journals, Economic Research Journal and China Economic Quarterly. The paper published in Economic Research Journal (2021, 7), co-written by Prof. Xu Xianxiang of Sun Yat-sen University's Lingnan College and his doctoral student Chen Qiuhui, is titled The Experience of Economic Growth Recovery Under Negative Impact, Based on the Pursuit of China's Economic Target. The one published in China Economic Quarterly (2021, 5), written with Xu, is Target Drives Growth.”

Li holds a Ph.D. in economics from Sun Yat-sen University. Her research domains include new political economy, development economics and environmental economics. She has published papers in other top economics journals in China including The Journal of World Economy. She chairs the National Natural Science Foundation of China's Youth Program, the Ministry of Education's Youth Program of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Natural Science Program of Guangdong. She has participated in crosswise government projects organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission. She has also published articles or given interviews in e media including the Xinhua News Agency, South Reviews and Yangcheng Evening News.
