JNU's School of Management has been granted its third re-accreditation by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and initial accreditation by the gold-standard Business Graduates Association (BGA).
The panel of assessors from AMBA and BGA evaluated the school online from June 16 to 18. The panel comprises Leila Guerra, associate dean of the Business School of Imperial College London; Prof. Sarah Cooper, associate dean of the Business School of Edinburgh University; Prof. Wang Chongming, manager of AMBA and BGA in China and director of Zhejiang University's Global Entrepreneurship Research Center; and Prof. Philip McLaughlin, former dean of KEDGE Business School in Marseille, France. Attending the online accreditation meeting were JNU President Song Xianzhong; Vice President Zhang Hong; all leaders of the School of Management; and major heads of MBA and executive MBA programs, the Department of Financial Management, the Undergraduate Management Office, the Graduate Management Office and the School of Management office.

Through a three-day online visit, the panel conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the school and the programs to be certified according to the AMBA and BGA accreditation standards, collecting reviews and opinions from stakeholders including teachers, alumni, employers and student representatives. The panel highly appreciated the great importance attached by the university and the school leaders in international accreditation and global clout enhancement. It recognized the measures taken by the programs in faculty development, student experience, school-enterprise cooperation and internationalization, and it also praised the school's efforts to maintain teaching activities and daily operations during the pandemic. Meanwhile, the panel proposed targeted suggestions for continuous improvement of the organizational governance structure, curriculum arrangement and personnel training target.
The School of Management officially obtained its initial AMBA accreditation for its Sino-international MBA (SiMBA), part-time MBA and EMBA programs in 2011, making JNU the fifth university in mainland China to pass the accreditation. The school previously received AMBA re-accreditation in 2013 and 2016. The joint AMBA-BGA accreditation fully affirms the school's achievements in business education over the last five years -- an important step for the school in furthering its international reputation and clout and deepening its cooperation with other certified universities.
