Jinan University and the Zhuhai Gree Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., held a signing and unveiling ceremony for the JNU Postgraduate Industry-Education Integration Training Base on Zhuhai campus on July 14. In attendance were JNU Vice Presidents Zhang Hong and Wang Bing; Li Weihui, secretary of the Xiangzhou District Committee of Zhuhai; Wen Hui, assistant to the president of Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai; and Zhang Tianyi, assistant to the general manager of Gree Intelligent Equipment.

Zhang Hong pointed out that JNU would position the Zhuhai campus as a high-level integrated campus characterized by application-oriented research and industrialization, with the aim of realizing differential and complementary development and joint advancement in teaching and research. He said the cooperation between JNU and Gree on the training base would undoubtedly power postgraduate education and future development of the campus.

The founding of Zhuhai campus in 1998 pioneered the first full-time general higher education institution in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone, Li said. He also noted the Xiangzhou District would strive to promote the cooperation and said he hoped more JNU graduates could find jobs, start businesses and seek development in the district.

Wen added that Gree would further its cooperation with JNU in such fields as artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing, especially in discussing the future direction and technology of industrial robots, mobile logistics robots and robot vision. He said he hoped the two sides could cultivate more talents who would combine ability with political integrity for the company, and even for the whole intelligent manufacturing industry in the Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai City and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

On behalf of JNU and Gree, Wang and Zhang Tianyi signed the Framework Agreement on the JNU Postgraduate Industry-Education Integration Training Base. After the ceremony, the school leaders visited the company.
