JNU had a large number of winning teams and high ratings among national universities in the first National Teaching Innovation Contest for College Teachers at Fudan University from July 27 to 30. Liu Tao's team from School of Journalism and Communication won the first prize of senior title group (ranked No. 1 of the group), Sun Pinghua's team from College of Pharmacy won the same group's second prize and Guo Shiqiang’s team from College of Liberal Arts won the second prize of intermediate and primary title group.

With the theme promoting teaching innovation and creating top courses, the contest was guided by China's Department of Higher Education, hosted by the China Association of Higher Education, and undertaken by Fudan University and other institutions. After the preliminary school competition, provincial competition and national competition, 50,386 teachers from 31 national competition areas participated in the school competition, 12,625 in the provincial competition, and 300 from 199 courses (including members of the accompanying curriculum team) in the national competition.
