Song set three requirements for new faculty members: that they strengthen their faith and bear their mission in mind; that they wholeheartedly cherish their posts and be down-to-earth in their work; and that they strive for innovation and excellence. Song said they should set an example of high professional ethics, improve their teaching ability and be creative, making efforts to become qualified teachers.
Dean Li Dan of the College of Chemistry and Materials Science led a seminar titled Requirements for University Teachers, in which he emphasized the significance for teachers of outstanding teaching ability and abundant knowledge.
