A calligraphy exhibition held by JNU's Sihai College opened on the Panyu campus June 26 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng and Vice President Zhang Ronghua attended the opening ceremony. Students and faculty of the college joined the exhibition online and off.
Lin highly praised the exhibition, encouraging students to devote themselves more actively to learning traditional Chinese culture to comprehend the core meanings of Chinese culture and contribute to excellent traditional culture diffusion.

Qu Xiangli, dean of Sihai College, described the planning and construction of the exhibition, as well as the study camp in classic Chinese culture. This exhibition of calligraphy by students from Hong Kong, Macao Taiwan and overseas, together with performances of music played on the guqin, a seven-stringed plucked instrument, and the Chinese zither, presented students' passion for traditional Chinese culture.
At the opening ceremony, Lin and Zhang awarded certificates of honor to excellent teachers and students in traditional culture training courses. In addition, representatives of distinguished guests cut the ribbon for the exhibition. After visiting the exhibition, Lin, Zhang and others watched the musical performances and displays of traditional Han Chinese clothing, archery and cultural handicrafts.

As a Chinese saying goes, artistic creation should follow the trend of the times. In this era of globalization, this exhibition showed works by JNU students from countries and regions including Romania, South Africa, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
