After college entrance examination rankings were released on June 25, Guangzhou Daily invited Yu Pei, dean of JNU's International School, to introduce the best majors at various universities in Guangdong. If students want to become talents with intercultural international vision, interdisciplinary comprehensive thinking, and interdisciplinary practical ability, Yu said, they are welcome to enroll in the International School of Jinan University.

Guangzhou Daily: What are the characteristics and advantages of the International School?

Yu Pei: In general, the International School is characterized by internationalization in its students, teachers, learning patterns and employment, which is also its advantage.

The International School was set up in 2001, featuring a full English teaching model in many disciplines and an integrated international talent-training model. Aiming to build a talent-training system in line with world-class universities, it also created a professional + foreign language international talent-training platform integrating various aspects, from management, student source and teachers to curriculum, quality and culture.

Yu Pei: Every major in the International School is a specialty of Jinan University, including international economics and trade (four-year program, Bachelor of Economics), accounting (four-year program, Bachelor of Management), finance (four-year program, Bachelor of Economics); double first-class construction professional pharmacy (four-year program), Bachelor of Science); Ministry of Education Professional Assessment A-Professional Journalism (four-year program, Bachelor of Arts); clinical medicine (six-year program, Bachelor of Medicine) in the first medical school in a comprehensive university in China; and national-level, Guangdong provincial first-class undergraduate majors in computer science and technology (four-year program, Bachelor of Engineering) and food science and engineering (four-year program, Bachelor of Engineering).

Guangzhou Daily: What is it like to study in the International School?

Yu Pei: The English teaching environment of the International School, the international student source, and the rich overseas study and exchange opportunities enable students to apply for the college's exchange study program in addition to participating in the school's exchange and cooperation projects. Students are also exposed to opportunities for internships in international companies. The International School also accepts exchange students from all over the world every year to connect with the world.

Through the scientific formulation of talent-training programs for all majors in the International School, more than 400 professional courses in English have been carefully created, and the construction of the curriculum system has been promoted in accordance with professional international certification and China's quality standards.
