JNU won six 2020 Science and Technology Awards in the Guangdong Provincial Government's Science and Technology Innovation Conference on May 20, taking two first prizes and four second prizes. The project Findings on the Effective Constituents of the Lingnan Herb and the Key Technologies and Application of the Quality Control System, headed by Prof. Ye Wencai of the College of Pharmacy's Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, won first prize in the Guangdong Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. “Key Technologies and Application of Multi-dimensional Optical Interconnects, headed by Prof. Li Zhaohui of the Institute of Photonics Technology, won first prize in the Guangdong Technical Innovation Awards. 

Assembly of Halloysite Nanotubes and Its Basic Research in Biomedical Applications, conducted by the College of Chemistry and Materials Science, won second prize in the Guangdong Natural Science Awards. Three projects won second prize in the Guangdong Scientific and Technological Progress Awards: Theoretical Technology and Application of Large-Scale Seaweed Ecological Restoration and Resource Conservation, conducted by the College of Life Science and Technology; Development and Application of Key Technologies for Security Protection and Intelligent Analysis in Big Data Scenarios, conducted by the College of Information Science and Technology, and Pathogenesis and Clinical Application of Affective Disorder Based on New Neuroimaging Technology, conducted by the First Clinical Medical School. 

In addition, three research results in which JNU participated won a first prize and two second prizes.
