The unveiling ceremony of Jinan University’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Central Nervous Regeneration Institute was held on the Shenzhen campus on May 8. Under the overall strategic layout of the school's one body, two wings and JNU's five campuses, the Shenzhen branch will rely on the institute's high-end academic advantages to play a role in technical research, achievement transformation and talent-training. It will also contribute to building a high level school and campus, strengthen discipline construction, optimize discipline structure and integrate the present cross-disciplinary situation.

At the ceremony, participants exchanged views on the establishment of the institute's Shenzhen branch and related issues.

JNU President Song Xianzhong fully affirmed the institute's outstanding achievements in platform construction, discipline development and achievement transformation. He pointed out that the Shenzhen branch should fully integrate Shenzhen's development strategy to build a pioneering demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It should also take the construction of Shenzhen's science and innovation center in the Greater Bay Area as an opportunity to promote the development of brain science and related interdisciplinary subjects at the school, he said. 

The leaders at the conference unveiled the Shenzhen Branch of the Institute and visited the Brain Science Laboratory on the Shenzhen campus. They had in-depth exchanges on software and hardware construction; high-level talent teams; recent work in production, education and research; and future planning.
