To strengthen school-enterprise cooperation and give full play to off-campus practice bases, a delegation led by Liao Kaihong, dean of JNU's School of Translation Studies, and Chen Yiping, vice dean in charge of teaching affairs, visited one of the school's off-campus internship practice bases, the Translation Centre of Huawei Technology Co., Ltd., on April 14.

Zhu Zhenghong, director of the First Language Service Department at Huawei Translation Center, briefed the delegation on the Center, including its development history, business structure, core values, and development channels and assessment criteria for translators. Liao described the school's faculty and talent training results. 

The two sides further discussed start time of intern recruitment, internships at the center for the school's students, and teachers' participation in school-enterprise cooperation projects.

On behalf of the school, Liao and Chen awarded Huawei Translation Center of Dongguan the title of JNU Practice Base.

Since 2014, the School of Translation Studies has maintained long-term cooperation with the Huawei Translation Center by providing qualified trainees.  Huawei's general managers and staff members have repeatedly been invited to lecture on translation, broadening students' horizons of translation, and enhancing their understanding and recognition of translation.
