JNU's School of Economics livestreamed its 40th anniversary celebration to more than 50,000 alumni around the world from the Zhonghui Building, the home of the School of Economics on campus on Oct. 31. Participating were former JNU President Hu Jun; Vice President Wang Bing; Board Member Ye Huiquan, Dean Feng Shuaizhang and over 20 outstanding alumni representatives of the school.
JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng and President Song Xianzhong offered congratulations and shared the story of the school's founding and development. Lin highly commended the school's outstanding alumni, represented by Ma Youheng, Su Bingtian, Chen Aisen and Ye Huiquan, on their efforts to keep the JNU spirit alive and pass on traditional Chinese cultures.

The School of Economics has cultivated numerous talents for Guangdong since its founding in 1980. Alumni in the U.S., Thailand, Australia, the U.K. and other parts of the world sent their best wishes to their alma mater online. In a recorded video, Huang Zhaoren, 96, widow of the founding dean, Prof. Cai Fusheng, who died in 1994, also extended her hope for a better future for the school.
