JNU Ranks High in Graduate Education in China

According to the 16th “Chinese Graduate Education and Discipline Evaluation Report (2019-2020)” from the Network of Science and Education Evaluation, JNU ranks 45th among 576 universities in the Competitiveness Ranking of Graduate Education Universities in China, rising one place from 2018. JNU ranks third among 25 universities in Guangdong.
JNU's ranking percentage changed from 8.01% in 2018 to 7.81% in 2019. Its grade evaluation has been among the top 5% to 10% in China for two consecutive years, putting it on the 5★- level of quasi-first-class competitiveness. In the first-level index analysis, JNU' score for quality and academic influence 45.32, ranking 36th. -- nine places higher than its overall ranking, representing a great advantage in related indicators in quality of talent cultivation.

JNU has consistently optimized the discipline structure of its degree and graduate education. In 2018, JNU was authorized to grant doctorates in eight first-level disciplines and master's degrees in three, and it has now added three professional degrees. The number of added doctorates ranked first in Guangdong and seventh in the country, a historic breakthrough for JNU. In 2019, JNU was authorized to grant doctorates in the first-level discipline of environmental science and engineering, and it completed 13 corresponding authorization for its master's degree in engineering.
