Jinan University was rated very good in evaluation results received on Sept. 2 from the European Commission's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) on the Erasmus + LMPT project undertaken by JNU's Department of Tourism Management.
EACEA divided the project's evaluation results into four levels, with very good the highest. The honor also indicates JNU's success in its construction as both a qualified and a double-first-class university, underpinning its comprehensive strength in international communication and cooperation.

Erasmus + LMPT is an international cooperation project to realize sustainable tourism development by introducing the European Union's advanced, comprehensive system of education in sustainable tourism in China, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan. The project promotes undergraduate and master's degree programs in sustainable tourism with the theme of protecting economic activities and respecting the natural environment.”

JNU's Department of Tourism Management is one of the three units undertaking the project in China. Since the project was approved in January 2017, the department has integrated its resources and set up a special working group for the project. Based on the undergraduate and master's programs in tourism management, it has carried out close exchanges and cooperation with European educational institutions,  including the French Vocational Education and Training Public Welfare Group, South-West University of Bulgaria, the University of Algarve in Portugal and the International Distance Education University of Italy. It has carried out teaching exchanges, curriculum reform, credit certification, double degree/joint degree, distance education and special lectures in the sustainable tourism curriculum. A project center has been set up in the laboratory building of JNU's Panyu campus, and a publicity website for this special project has been built: https://lmpt.jnu.edu.cn..
