He Qingyu and Li Bin, students in JNU's College of Life Science and Technology, jointly published their paper Direct targeting of CREB1 with imperatorin inhibits TGFβ2-ERK signaling to suppress esophageal cancer metastasis in the journal Advanced Science (IF=15.84) in July. The paper made an in-depth analysis of transforming growth factor beta (TGFβ2)’s important role in the metastasis of esophageal cancer from three aspects: biological function, molecular mechanism and potential clinical significance. By high throughput screening, it also found that imperatorin, a kind of small molecular drug, can significantly inhibit tumor metastasis.
Associate researcher Xu Wenwen and postgraduate Huang Zhihao from the college the co-first authors; He, Li and Xu are the corresponding authors.
