Prof. Li Xuewu, dean of JNU's College of Arts and Pearl River Film College, and Associate Prof. Ye Zhihai, associate dean of both colleges, won Outstanding Contribution Awards in the Guangdong Film Association's list of commendations for 2018-2019, released on June 11.

The Guangdong Film Association gives this commendation to outstanding members who have shown great enthusiasm, given active support and cooperation, and made outstanding contributions to its events. These included the Red Literature and Art Troupe's visits to grassroots units, film forums, point-of-view (POV) seminars, talent training, film lectures and exhibitions, investigation and research seminars, university student film festivals, and Pearl River Film College open classes.
The Pearl River Film College has actively responded to needs in national strategy and industrial planning; focused on social services; and strived to become a think tank for the film industry and a center for talent training and film creation since its establishment last year. Teachers and students have made much progress in teaching, scientific research and creation.
