JNU Vice President Rao Min and her delegation held a talk with the First Circuit Court (FCC) and the International Commercial Court of the Supreme People's Court on March 25. They exchanged views on co-establishing off-campus practice bases, scientific research and community services.

FCC Vice President Zhang Yongjian mentioned the significance of FCC reform. As a supreme court for the people, the FCC shoulders the responsibilities of facilitating litigation, delocalizing and trial reform, Zhang said. Several steps have been taken to increase contact with major law schools within the circuit. These include authorizing presiding judges to teach, lecture, hold a trial or hire an intern assistant in the schools involved, which has benefited the community a lot.”                                                          
On behalf of JNU, Rao Min expressed willingness to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism with the FCC to cultivate legal talents and scientific research. Zhu Yikun, dean of JNU's Law School and Intellectual Property School, added: With strong research and teaching power, our law school is one of the most influential and best-known law schools in South China. It can cooperate with the FCC on the research of trial theory and corresponding empirical research, especially in exploring the practical teaching base of overseas Chinese students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and contributing to the training of outstanding legal talents.”

The two sides reached consensus on the cultivation of legal talents, scientific research and social services. They decided to consult further on specific forms of cooperation.
