JNU Vice President Zhang Ronghua made a comprehensive safety inspection of Panyu Campus on April 23 with representatives from the Office of Laboratory and Facilities Management, the Office of Academic Affairs, the Students’ Office and the campus Management Committee.

The inspection team toured the college building, laboratories, dormitories, canteen service center and second-phase project area (extended dormitory construction). The team showed concern for the teachers and students staying at the college, and also learned about safety-focused work regulations; maintenance and arrangement of essential facilities; prevention and control measures amid the Covid-19 epidemic; preparation before students return; and significant priorities in the next phase. Focusing on both the epidemic prevention and guaranteeing security, the inspection team dealt with hidden problems exposed during the inspection on the spot, urging that the units and surveillance bodies involved be held accountable, ensuring good preparation for the timely resumption of work.

Zhang acclaimed the preparation work. As the students are expected to be back soon, colleges and universities should be highly vigilant about epidemic's risks, he said. Each and every unit should work together to guarantee a smooth resumption, as well as stable and orderly arrangements afterwards.
