Sixty-five members of the third medical team from the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University sent to support Hubei province safely returned home on April 24 after completing their 14-day quarantine. The 89 medical staff members of three JNU medical teams have all returned.

JNU Party Secretary Lin Rupeng and President Song Xianzhong attended the welcome meeting for the medical teams and awarded trophies to medical staff members.

Lin fully affirmed everyone's successful completion of the medical support to Hubei. When the motherland needed help most, the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University sent three medical teams to the front, he said. Everyone completed the mission through the whole process of supporting Hubei and fighting against the novel coronavirus epidemic.
Song said with emotion, In this extremely strenuous war against the epidemic, every medical staff member successfully completed the medical treatment, contributed Jinan power and demonstrated Jinan spirit with noble medical ethics, outstanding medical skills and excellent work style. He added, All of you are the pride of Jinan University, the pride of Guangdong and also the cutest people in the new era.”

Xu Dianshuang, leader of the third medical team and interim secretary of party branch, said: “When I set out two months ago, I promised you in the Sunshine Hall that I would bring all the team members back unscathed. Today, I lead all 65 team members to keep my word: the third medical team from the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinan University successfully completed the anti-epidemic task, and all of them came back safe and sound.”

At the end of the ceremony, the medical teams performed a choreographed finger dance. Thank you, because of you, they sang to express their deepest feelings for all those who missed them and cared about them.

As one of the first hospitals in Guangdong that raced against the clock to assist Wuhan and stayed to the last moment, the First Affiliated Hospital of JNU dispatched 89 medical staff members to Hubei. All 24 members of the third medical team who left quarantine on April 5 have now returned to work.
