In the QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) University Rankings Asia 2020, released Nov. 27, JNU ranks 34th in China and 148th in Asia, a slight improvement over last year.

The methodology for the rankings was compiled using 11 indicators: academic reputation (30%), employer reputation (20%), international research network (10%), citations per paper (10%), student-to-faculty ratio (10%), papers per faculty member (5%), staff members with Ph.D.s (5%), international faculty members (2.5%), international students (2.5%), outbound exchange students (2.5%) and inbound exchange students (2.5%). The ranking, which includes reviews by the world’s largest academic peer group and surveys from top employers, is based on the opinions of 94,672 top academic experts and 44,884 employers.
QS World University Rankings are recognized among the top four authoritative university rankings with a wide range of influence in the world, along with The Times Higher World Rankings, US News World University Rankings and Shanghai Jiaotong University World University Academic Rankings.
