Zhang extended warm congratulations to the association, whose 60,000 alumni have played important roles in all walks of life over the year, and said it had become a strong force of support for JNU. As a firm supporter of the one country, two system policy, a contributor to the Belt and Road Initiative and a builder in the promotion of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the association has received recognition from the Hong Kong SAR Government and social sectors.
Its president, Zheng Yulan, noted in her speech that the JNU Alumni Association of Hong Kong, guided by the fundamental policy of Love China and love Hong Kong and JNU, had been working hard to strengthen communication with other alumni associations.
The gathering was followed by the evening gala where the association’s chorus, dance group and others performed.
Zhang, along with other school representatives, visited Ye Zixuan, CEO of Yip's Chemical Holdings Ltd., and his wife Cao Jiali, a 1979 graduate of JNU's College of Chemical Engineering and Material Science, on Sept. 22. They discussed future possibilities for university-corporate partnership and talent exchange.
