Thirty-five students in cyber security and related majors attended JNUs Cyber Security Summer Training Camp, sponsored by College of Cyber Security and organized by Cyber Space Security Association, on the south campus from Aug. 18 to 24.
The training camp aimed to enrich students' theoretical knowledge and improve their practical skills. It consisted of cyber security case sharing and cyber security contest sharing, in which participants communicated freely and received feedback.
In the opening speech, Xiao Dongsheng, deputy secretary of the college's party committee, pointed out that the college had achieved remarkable breakthroughs in discipline construction, scientific research and talent training. Students should cherish the time and excellent learning environment and strive for great achievements, she said.
On Aug. 19, the camp also organized a live technique-sharing program, at which Huan Chen, security ecology manager of Ant Finance, and Deng Yuan, expert of Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab, were present. Huan introduced the basics of the Ant Financial Security Response Center, and Deng spoke on browser vulnerability.
On 20th, students led by Xiao Dongsheng, Luo Guowei and Wei Linfeng were trained on the confidentiality training platform and visited an exhibition on confidentiality in Guangdong's state secrets agency. They learned about the history of state secrecy, realized the dangers of information disclosure and watched security warnings.
On Aug. 21, students went to Asiainfo, a well-known security enterprise in China, for a technical exchange to learn how to deal with evolving cyber security threats.
