JNU President Song Xianzhong and Vice President Hong An inspected JNU's biomedical industrial park and held a symposium on May 30. Wu Jianguo, dean of the Institute of Pathogenic Microorganisms and in charge of JNU biomedical industrial park in Shunde district, Foshan City, reported on progress in platform construction, product research and development, achievement transformation and product industrialization before introducing the overall plan and goal.

Song affirmed the industrial park's achievements and pointed out that its successful construction could also promote cooperation between universities and local industries;   the combination of government, industry, academia and research; innovation in scientific mechanism; and transformation of scientific achievements.

Moving forward, JNU hopes to attract more social capital to promote the transformation and industrialization of relevant scientific achievements. Song made constructive suggestions for the development of the biomedical industrial park and the Institute of Pathogenic Microorganisms.

Attending the symposium were Sun Yu, director of JNU's  Party and Government Affairs Office; Ou Shiyi, division chief of the Science and Technology Research Office; Luo Liangping, executive dean of the Graduate School; Li Hongjian, vice president of the Institute of Pathogenic Microorganisms; and Tan Qiuping, general manager of biomedical industrial park.
