Jinan University's Institute of Economic and Social Research (IESR) and the Institute of Population and Labor Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (IPLE-CASS) signed a strategic cooperative agreement on March 4. They agreed to conduct comprehensive and in-depth cooperation based on their current joint research team and existing research results. Attending the signing ceremony were JNU President Song Xianzhong; Qian Wei, party secretary and deputy director of IPLE-CASS; other IPLE-CASS leaders, and all IESR teachers and students.

The cooperation includes several aspects. First, based on existing data, IESR and IPLE-CASS members will jointly write relevant research reports and academic papers with the help of IPLE-CASS's family dynamics survey and IESR's family employment survey, sharing academic data. Second, new cooperative projects will be set in motion, benefiting from IPLE-CASS's rich experience of social surveys and IESR's social investigation center, computer-assisted investigation system, and then serving the respective academic and policy research. Third, regular communication pertaining to academic studies and talent training will be carried out. Finally, cooperation on building think-tanks and policy research will be strengthened.
