Prof. Guo Tuan of JNU's Institute of Photonics Technology won the 2018 Technical Award at the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, IMS, on Nov. 2. He will accept the award at the 2019 IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference in Auckland, New Zealand, on May 22.

As the first Chinese winner and the youngest award-winner ever, Guo, 39, was honored for his contributions to energy and health monitoring. His award citation will read: For outstanding contributions to the Advancement of Energy and Health monitoring technologies.

The IEEEIMS technical award honors scientists who have made outstanding contributions to the development and application of international information measurement and instrumentation.
