JNU Prof. Guan Baiou's teammates in the Institute of Nanophotonics won two prizes at the 26th International Conference on Optical Fiber Sensors (OFS-26) in Lausanne, Switzerland, from Sept. 24 to 28. Dr. Liang Lili, Dr. Liang Yizhi, associate researcher Ran Yang, doctoral student Xu Zhiyuan and graduate student Wang Guanyu attended. Liang Lili's paper received one of two Best Paper Awards, and Liang Yizhi received the Outstanding Idea Award.
Liang Lili spoke on Fiber Light-Coupled Optofluidic Waveguide (FLOW) Immunosensor for p53 Protein Detection in Serum. She described a neoteric optical fiber microfluidics sensor to present detectability of specific cancer biomarkers in serum.
(Certificate of the Best Paper Award)
Liang Yizhi made a presentation titled Acoustic-Impedance Mapping With Trapped Acoustic Phonon (TRAP) Modes in Optical Fibers,” about a new optical fiber sensing mechanism to achieve real-time monitoring liquid diffusion process in microfluidic channels.
(Certificate of the Outstanding Idea Award)
Wang gave a presentation on “Broadband Bubble-on-Fiber Acoustic Sensor.” Ran and Xu presented posters.
Optical fiber sensing technology and application is one of the professional emphases in JNU's optical engineering discipline. These awards demonstrate that JNU's research is recognized and affirmed by international peers.
