On behalf of all the teachers and students, President Song Xianzhong extended a welcome and congratulation to the 2018 freshmen. He pointed out that JNU, with its long and glorious history, has a responsibility to spread Chinese culture all over the world.
Song also mentioned how much effort the freshmen had put into being admitted to JNU. However, what's past is past, he said, and now you are facing a new mission: you have to spend the four years of university well. As JNU's new president and an alumnus, he shared his experience with the freshmen while expressing the wish that they will stay true to themselves, value their time and accomplish their missions.
