Luo Tieying, chairman of the Thai Alumni Association of China’s Universities (TACU), headed a delegation that visited JNU on May 30, meeting with JNU President Song Xianzhong.

Song said Thailand is JNU's second largest source of international students and its main location for overseas students' admission and Chinese language-teaching. He said JNU actively collaborates with Thai universities and other educational institutions. Song also said JNU would strive to educate Thai students and to improve Chinese-Thai academic and cultural exchange.

Luo said TACU, founded in 2002, serves as a bridge and bond in enhancing friendship and cooperation among Thai alumni studying in China and uniting alumni to promote Thai-Chinese friendship and cooperation. She expressed her wish that Thai alumni could adhere to TACU's mission and make a real contribution to Thai-Chinese exchange.

Shi Xuehao, party secretary of JNU College of Chinese Language and Culture, briefed the delegation on the college's multi-cultural environment and short-term training projects. After the meeting, the delegation visited JNU’s history museum and met with Thai students.

TACU, founded on Nov. 3, 2012, is a group organized by Thai alumni of universities in China. Its mission is to enhance friendship and cooperation among Thai students in China; give full play to its unique familiarity with conditions in Thailand and China; and promote Thai-Chinese traditional friendship and exchange in economy, technology, culture and education.
