JNU Institutes among China's Top 100 University Think-Tanks

Five Gongdong think-tanks, two of them from Jinan University, made the list of the Top 100 University Think Tanks in China in the Chinese University Think-Tank Development Report (2017) released on Jan. 19th, 2018 by Zhejiang University of Technology and its Global Think-Tank Research Center. JNU's Institute of Industrial Economics took 22rd place, and its Institute of Resource, Environment and Sustainable Development Research ranked 81st.

The rankings indicate that JNU's think-tank construction has initially formed a multifaceted structure after the Academy of Oversea Chinese Studies. In addition, its Institute for Economic and Social Research has been selected by AMI (Attraction Power, Management Power, and Impact Power) 2017 and the Academy of Overseas Chinese Studies and INTELLISIA by CTTI (China Think Tank Index) .

The list is compiled by a research team according to the results of exploration and practice based on the FAC Evaluation Model and Evaluation Index System. Over 90 % of think-tanks on the top 100 list are traditional universities of Project 985 and 211, most of them under the Double First-Class initiative. Other Guangdong think-tanks include the Institution of Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao Development Studies; Sun Yat-sen University; and the Sun Yat-sen Chinese Public Management Research Center.
