2,817 JNU Students Win National Special Scholarships

On May 6 JNU held a commendation conference for outstanding classes and excellent students in the 2017 and 2018 academic year and held an awards ceremony of the 5A Excellent Leading Project. National Special Scholarships went to 2,817 students, including National Scholarship, National Endeavor Scholarships, and Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Ethnic Chinese and Overseas Chinese Scholarships. The students received a total of over 31 million RMB for the 2017-18 academic year.
JNU Special Scholarships went to 5,580 students, including excellent students and excellent student leaders, as well as sports, academic and art scholarships. Commendations went to 992 students who won awards at the provincial competition or above. Honorary titles went to 1,108 students, who were named JNU Excellent Students, JNU Excellent Student Leaders and JNU Excellent Class Monitors.

The 5A Excellent Leading Project, created in 2012, commends excellent undergraduate students. The 5A designation refers to Ambitious and Lofty Ideals, Academic Orientation, Acquiring a Profession, Aspiring to Innovation and All-Around Development. Ten 5A Excellent Class, 10 JNU Excellent Class Monitor and 100 Excellent Students were selected from 500 JNU undergraduate classes, and over 20,000 undergraduates were awarded 10 different prizes.
