Jinan University held the finals of the first Zhuhai-Macao Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on April 14. This competition was jointly organized by JNU's International Business School and D-Chip Technology Co.,Ltd. In the finals, two teams alternated asking each other questions, with 60 seconds to reply. In this round 11 professional judges graded their performances.
The competition started in September. A total of 267 teams signed up, totaling 1,336 undergraduates, and 10 teams entered the finals after preliminary rounds and semifinals. Ten industries, mostly in information technology service, were involved in the competition.
The Shimizu Uji project won first prize. A tramway track safety inspection service for electric trams and the electric power-assisted hydraulic transmission bicycle project won the second prize. Chaoyang (based on the Internet of Things intelligent aquaculture service platform), a ZigBee-based environmental safety monitoring system and Tianqi education technology won third prizes.
The competition attracted students from 14 colleges, including four from Macau, promoting interaction between students from Zhuhai and Macau. More than 10 venture capital executives attended.
