Xia Quan, JNU's deputy party secretary, led a delegation to Macau from March 28 to 30 to strengthen contacts between JNU and universities there, and to promote exchanges and cooperation in research.
At the Macau Cultural Institute, the two sides discussed the possibility of jointly publishing historical and cultural resources of Macau, as well as publications of oral history and documentation. They agreed to promote jointly the development of works including a Macau Literature Series.

The delegation then visited Macau Polytechnic Institute, (MPI), where the two sides agreed to deepen exchanges and cooperation based on the original protocol framework.

Later, the delegation visited the Macau Foundation. Xia expressed his thanks for the foundation's support in the construction of JNU's new campus and relevant disciplines. He said he hoped to implement specific measures of cooperation through this talk.

The delegation also had exchanges with the University of Macau (UM) and Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). They reached an initial agreement of cooperation on issues related to Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative, forming a docking mechanism.

The delegation witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between Macau Research Institute and MUST Institute for Social and Cultural Research at MUST. Later it visited the Institute for Social and Cultural Research.

The delegation also visited Ma Youheng, a renowned Macau resident and president of the JNU alumni association. They discussed how the Macau alumni association would further support JNU in researching Macau issues and how JNU would support its activities.
