Two JNU programs have been rated excellent among the completed projects supported by National Social Science Foundation of China, the National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science announced in early March. They are Research on the Naming of Fictions of the Ming and Qing Dynasties (Grant No. 13BZW079), directed by Prof. Cheng Guofu of the College of Liberal Arts, and Research on the Sampling Estimation Method and Its Application Assisted by Super-population Model (Grant No. 14CTJ014), directed by Prof. Cheng Guanghui the College of Economics. It was the second time Cheng’s project was rated as excellent.
The National Planning Office of Philosophy and Social Science accepted a total of 290 annual programs, youth programs and Western projects, of which 18, or 6.2 percent, were rated as excellent.
In recent years, guided by the research ideas big platforms, large teams, major projects and great achievements, JNU's humanities and social science research teams have attached more importance to improving the quality of project completion while applying for projects. Under the authority's increasingly stringent requirements, Prof. Cheng Guofu and Prof. Cheng Guanghui's completions of national social science projects are simultaneously rated excellent, demonstrating that JNU researchers are continuously strengthening their awareness of quality and fine work.
