JNU’s 175 volunteers and more than 200 chief volunteers participated the JNU volunteers' oath-taking meeting for the 2017 Fortune Global Forum and the opening ceremony of the 10th JNU Volunteer Cultural Festival at the International Conference Hall on Nov. 30.
Speaking at the meeting, JNU Vice President Rao Min encouraged volunteers to promote the spirit of service. She said the students should value the honor of being volunteers at the forum and show the charm of Guangzhou and JNU to people from China and abroad to promote the their image.
Liu Yunhua, a representative of municipal cooperation, expressed appreciation for JNU's careful organization and arrangements for the forum. He called on volunteers to take responsibility and contribute to it.
JNU volunteer representative Fang Yunyue also spoke. Rao and Liu presented flags to volunteer representatives, whose specially designed costumes embody the Canton Tower and Guangzhou.
The Fortune Global Forum was held in Guangzhou from Dec. 6 to 8. More than 1,200 outstanding volunteers in Guangzhou were selected to work on it, among them 175 students from 14 colleges in JNU, including 18 volunteers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and one foreigner.
