JNU held a development planning strategy seminar on Oct. 12 and 13 in the International Conference Hall of Zeng Xianzi Science Museum. The theme was "Focus on Double First-Rate, Strengthen Higher Education." Among the issues discussed were the target path and program measures of Double First-Rate construction, the relationship between First-Rate Universities and First-Rate Disciplines, reform of the internal management system, and the opportunity for Double First-Rate Construction at Jinan University.

Du Jinmin, director of the Development and Planning Department, reported on JNU's construction as a high-level university from four aspects: new measures, new achievements, new challenges and new goals. Subsequently, 13 leaders of high-level construction discipline groups reported on the achievements of the JNU's construction as a high-level university. The meeting also invited experts inside and outside the school to assess JNU’s overall construction and completion of various indicators. The experts affirmed JNU's progress in recent years, especially in talent introduction and scientific research achievements, which laid a solid foundation for construction of the next Double First-Rate.
