Chen Tianfeng, a professor in JNU's School of Chemistry and Materials, in cooperation with Yu Xuefeng, a researcher in the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Science, has made a great progress in a targeted nanophase drug carrier system. The two synthesized a targeted nano-composite system with a core-shell structure, developing a targeted chemoradiotherapy for tumors.
Their findings were published in ACS Nano, a leading nanomaterials journal. Their study was supported by the Young Talents Program of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China's Central Committee, the National High Technology Research and Development Program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Guangdong Natural Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
The research team was dedicated to synthesis and application of targeted nanophase medicine for curing tumors. It has published over 30 papers in such famous journals as Angewandte Chemie International Edition , ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials and Biomaterials, 15 of which were cover papers in Advanced Functional Materials and Journal of Materials Chemistry.
