Qiu Meijia, a sophomore majoring in applied physics in JNU's College of Science and Engineering, has published a paper in the Journal of Materials Chemistry A, a well-known journal in the field of materials.
The paper is titled "WO3 Nanoflowers With Excellent Pseudo-Capacitive Performance and the Capacitance Contribution Analysis." Qiu wrote the paper, which was included in Area 1 of SCI-JCR with the impact factor of 7.443, under the guidance of Prof. Mai Wenjie.
The paper elaborated synthesizing nanometer-like tungsten trioxide onto a titanium plate, whose electrode performance is excellent as a supercapacitor. It also probed into storage mechanism carefully and put forward a new viewpoint to judge the supercapacitor's practicality.
Qiu began studying at Siyuan Laboratory, established with a donation of 5 million RMB from Lin Weiyi, an alumnus of the physics department. He then actively participated in the Climbing Plan, a key project of Guangdong College Students Technological Innovation Specially Funded Projects. Under the guidance of researcher Mai Wenjie, Qiu learned cutting-edge scientific issues and conducted research on energy storage materials and devices.
At present, Siyuan Laboratory has cultivated many excellent undergraduates, of whom six have published SCI papers as first author.
