A JNU delegation led by Vice President Rao Min paid a 10-day visit to universities in France, Spain and Switzerland in November. The universities included Paris Diderot University (Paris 7), Sciences Po Lille, King Juan Carlos University (URJC), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and the University of Geneva (UNIGE). In addition, the delegation visited the Sino-France Cultural Exchange Commission, overseas Chinese associations in France and Spain, and Chinese schools in Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Geneva and Zurich to learn about their educational status quo and explore an integrated approach for overseas Chinese education.
In France, the delegation reached consensus with Paris 7 to strengthen student exchanges and support in French and Chinese education. The delegation also came to an agreement on intercollege exchanges with Benoit Lengaingne, dean of Sciences Po Lille, enabling students to participate in a two-way internship program and a 3+2 joint training program for undergraduate and postgraduate courses while sending JNU's curriculum of advanced majors to Sciences Po Lille.

In Spain, the delegation met with URJC Vice President Pablo Tomas to discuss two-way support for Spanish and Chinese education and an exchange mechanism for sending doctoral students to two schools. They also discussed scientific and research cooperation between professors at JNU and URJC. The delegation talked with UAB about including Chinese education in the main Spanish teaching mechanism and about the feasibility of research collaboration on the history of Chinese immigrants in Europe.
At UNIGE, the delegation asked for details about the teaching mechanism, teacher recruitment and assessment systems, inviting UNIGE's professors to collaborate with JNU's on scientific research.
