On November 16, 2016, Jinan Univesrity will celebrate the 110 anniversary. We will invite leaders at all levels,, friends of all walks of life, alumni at home and abroad and school teachers and students to convergence in Guang Zhou to celebrate the anniversary.

On November 18, we released “Jinan University 110 anniversary announcement(No.1)” in the “People's Daily (overseas edition)”, “Nanfang Daily”, Hong Kong “Ta Kung Pao” and Jinan University News, Jinan University official microblogging, the official WeChat, alumni association official WeChat platform at the same time, which reads as follows:

In 1906, Jinan school was founded in Nanjing by the Qing government, the first insitute in China offered education for overseas Chinese. Later it moved to Shanghai and was upgraded to National Jinan University in 1927. It rebuilt in Guangzhou in 1958 and entered the national "211 Project" key construction university ranks in 1996. On November 16, 2016, Jinan University, the paramount school for Overseas Chinese will celebrate its 110th Anniversary.

Over a century, Jinan University endures ups and downs, it never forget and always adhere to its mission, which is to extend Chinese education to overseas Chinese communitie, and has turned out more than 300,000 talents from five continets, 160 countries and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan regions.

In the new century, Jinan University determines to forge ahead, and its overall strength has improved significantly. In 2011, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Ministry of Education, Guangdong Province signed an collaorative agreement to build Jinan University together; in 2014, the South Campus was put into use; in 2015 the university beame one of the Guangdong key high-level university.

Today, Jinan university is geering itself to need of our Chinese nation and its people, deepening reform, accelerating innovation, focusing itself on talent cultivation, scientific research and social service, to strengthen the inheritance and innovation of the Chinese excellent traditional culture, to move forward with th domestic first-class, world-renowned university.

"We set our feet to every cornor of the world, with our roots go deep in the land of China; we bring to every new land our spirits and our culture", the anthem of Jinan University represents the its mission, which bearing the great expectations from the country, and which every generation of Jinan people have been striving for; "Emphasis on basic knowledge, highlight the application, focus on innovation" is our tradition;  "faithful and respect, with equal stress on theory and practice, self-improvement, Involveness" is our spirit of Jinan.

On the occasion of 110 years celebration, we would like to extend our sincere gratitude and highest respect to leaders at all levels, the Council Members and alumni at home and abroad, all the friends who care and support the school's construction and development long-term! The preparatory work for the 110th anniversary of Jinan University has been officially launched, the celebrations will be held on November 16 to 19, 2016. We will uphold the "warm, simple practical, the characteristic" principle, "dream high level, and create the future" as the theme,and organize a series of Alumni and academic exchange activities. Leaders at all levels, Council Members, alumni and friends from various circles at home and abroad are invited to together again in GuangZhou, return to colorful campus to relive youth time, heartily recall friendship, join the festivities, compose spectrum chapter!
