In the 24th China News Award Day undertaken by All-China Journalists' Association, Prof. Liu Tao from College of Journalism & Communication of our university was awarded China News Award, first prize with the news “School Building should be the First Refuge, a critics he wrote on the Ya’an earthquake (measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale, on 20th of April, 2013). He said in his critics that school building was a location of refuge where the safety and lives of the Children can be guaranteed when disasters strike, and the school should be built as the first refuge for students. His viewpoint was widely recognized by the media.
