The International School Orientation Opening Ceremony on Sept 21st welcomed more than 300 new students from around 20 different nations and regions.
The ceremony held on the brand new JNU South Campus gave a warm embrace to all freshmen. Starting with the Chinese National Anthem, the ceremony invited passionate speeches from Prof Tang Shuze, Jiang Han, fellow student representative and Prof. William Riley, faculty representative. 
 

In his address, Prof. Tang emphasized the special features of the school, and looked forward to building a promising future with the new students. Prof. Riley and Jiang Han both pointed out from their own experience the importance of being open-minded, hardworking and the need for adaptability to different culture environments. Garabet Kazarian from 2014 CPA spoke as a freshman representative. He expressed how excited and pround he is to be a member of the IS family.

            
The ceremony marked the beginning of a 10-day intensive orientation camp and series of activities organized by both the school and the university.
