Mr. Lin Rupeng, vice president of our university said in his speech that it was widely accepted now in colleges and sectors in charge of higher education that undergrads to start scientific program they are interesting in can help them get sufficient training in scientific research and innovation and gain their research experience and develop creativeness and innovativeness. Undergrad trainings in science and technology innovativeness are important portions in Quality Program of Ministry of Education and that of Guangdong Province. Our university also, has attached great importance to it and launched undergrads science and technology creation and innovation program in 2004 and has provided funding to 1,280 programs initiated by undergrads of our university and nearly 4,000 undergrads attended these programs. After the inauguration, Mr. Lin attended the exhibition. Also, the department of teaching affairs organized an expert team to select and award the outstanding programs from the 48 pieces of works submitted.
