Mathematics teaching reform under the background of new science and engineering

Speaker: Hao Zhi-feng, Foshan University


ABOUT HAO ZHI-FENG

Professor Hao Zhi-feng is the Principal and doctoral supervisor of Foshan University. He held the post of the Vice President of Guangdong University of Technology from 2008 to 2015, executive deputy director of the College Town Administrative Committee of South China University of Technology from 2003 to 2008, and the Dean of the College of Science of South China University of Technology. He has been devoted into higher education research, mathematics teaching, research and application. He is the incumbent deputy director of Mathematics Teaching Steering Committee for colleges and universities of Department of Education from 2013 to 2017, assessment and review expert of Department of Education, and member of Organizing Committee of China Undergraduate Mathematical Contest in Modeling. He has presided more than 20 national, provincial, and research projects including Collaborative Fund of National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Guangdong Province Key Technology and Development Program, key projects of Department of Education of the 15th National Educational Science Plan, Science and Engineering Teaching Reform Project of Department of Education, projects of Teaching Steering Committee of Department of Education, Guangdong Province New Century Teaching Reform Projects, National Higher Education Teaching Seminar. He has won the second prize of National Excellent Teachers twice, in 2005 and 2009 respectively, the first prize of Guangdong Province Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of Natural Science Award of Department of Education, and Fok Ying Tung Young Teacher Award of Department of Education.


INTRODUCTION

This lecture explains the integration of College Mathematics and other related classes, and introduces the exploration and practice of science and engineering majors construction under the background of new science and engineering.
