Accommodation

JNU provides on campus accomodation for all undergraduate and graduate students.

General Information
The student dormitory is the public place for learning and living on campus. There are 22 dormitory buildings on campus, which are Jianyang, Zhenru, Jingling and Zhouzhuan zone. The Center for Education & Management Dormitory Affairs, the office in charge of student dormitory, is located on the ground floor of Jianyang 16th.

Opening Hours
Sunday to Thursday: 6:30a.m. – 11:30p.m.; Friday, Saturday and holidays: 6:30 a.m. – 12:00p.m. All residents return after opening hours should register with the dorm supervisor at the entrance. If having more than three times coming back after the prescriptive time in one month, you have already broken the Rules of Dormitory Affairs.

Heating Water
The central heating water system for Jingling will be run from 19:30 to 23:30 (Tel: 85220702), the central heating water system for Zhengru will be run from 17:30 to 19:30, and from 21:30 to 23:30 every day (Tel: 85220630). But for energy-saving reasons, no heating water will be supplied during winter and summer holiday. Free boiled drinking water is supplied at the courner of each floor.

Electrical Appliances
Residents should register with the dorm supervisor and obtain approval before using electrical appliances inside rooms (like refrigerators, washing machines, computer, and so on).
For the fireproofing reasons, electrical heating appliances of high energy-consumption are forbidden (like heater and electrical cooker). If you want to cook food, there are free-use micro-wave ovens in each building.

Exchange dorm room or moving out
Residents who wish to exchange dorm need to make E-applications before 18th every month in the university front-page. After 20th, applicants could exchange room after receiving a written approval from the dormitory administrative office in Jianyang 16th.
Residents who wish to checkout dorm and move out to live need to make applications to the dormitory administrative office in Jianyang 16th in June each year.

Internet
There is full wifi coverage in dorm area. If you want to get access to internet, please go to the Internet Service Center in Tsang Hin-chi Science Building 202 to open network account. The fee is RMB 300 yuan per year. Tel: 85220304/85220305

Others
No laundry service is available inside dorm area. You can buy washing machine or send clothes to dry cleaner shop outside the campus.
Print & Copy Service is available in Zhenru 3th and Jianyang 17th.

Dining

On Campus

Students may dine at the dining hall, Minghu Restaurant, or any other catering venues during term time. Do look up the campus map to find out their location.

Dining Hall

Dining Hall is located in the central of our campus. There are four canteens in the dining hall.

The first canteen (the first floor) offers breakfast, lunch, supper and drinks at the most competitive price.

The second canteen (the second floor) offers not only the lunch and supper, but also the night snack, fresh fruit juice, attractive breads and wheaten food. Besides, the environment of the second canteen, especially the Nanyuan area is the most comfortable and decent.

The third canteen (the third floor) offers various kinds of special regional food which is different from the first and second canteen.

The Muslim canteen (the first floor): hot dishes containing chicken are always served using halal meat in this restaurant. When eating in other canteens on campus it is best to ask a member of staff if the meat is halal.

Breakfast is served between: 7:00 am-10:00 am；

Lunch between:10:00am-1:30 pm；

Supper: between4:30 pm- 6:30 pm.

You can also get some snacks on the 2nd floor of the dining hall between 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

If you are unsure about what ingredients are used in some dishes or which foods usually go together to make a Chinese meal, please ask the catering services staff. They will be very happy to answer your questions and suggest combinations of foods that make a nice meal.

Minghu Restaurant

Whilstin Guangzhouyou might like to take the opportunity to try some well-known Cantonese cuisine, especially well-known dimsum, such as HaGau (shrimp dumpling), Cha Siu Bao (Barbecued Pork Bun), or rice noodle rolls. Minghu Restaurant is a good place where you can try new types of food at affordable prices.

Kingmark Bakery

It is near the SUNSHINEL.Better Shop. It offers hundreds of breads and cakes such as croissant, sandwich, toast, cheese cake, fruit pie, and nut muffin. You can buy them here from 6:00a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

JNU 1906 Coffee

JNU 1906 Coffee is located in Jinan University, 601 Huangpu West Avenue, Guangzhou. As the first program of Pioneer Park, it was opened on October 24th, 2014. Since then, it adds a hint of sweet scent to JNU, providing a relaxing place for tired students and teachers. The aim of operating such a cozy café in Jinan University is that the university hopes the students could have a great memory of their wonderful school life.
