The Institute of Atmospheric Environment Safety and Pollution Control (IAESPC) was founded in June 2013. It mainly conducts research in such area as mass spectrometry R&D,

atmospheric aerosol pollution, atmospheric photochemistry, and exposure to and health effects of atmospheric pollution. The Institute has been listed as Guangdong Engineering Center of Online Apportionment of Atmospheric Pollution and Innovation Team in Key Fields (2015) by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

At present, three research groups conducting research in mass spectrometer application,

atmospheric environment (aerosol, photo chemistry) and atmospheric environmental health.

IAESPC has built close collaborative ties with a great number of top universities, institutes and enterprises, both international and domestic, including the California Institute of Technology, the University of California at Davis, Cambridge University, the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, the University of Munich, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tsinghua University, Peking University, the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. IAESPC is currently building a first-class research institute with international influence in atmospheric science.
